My background is in embedded software including mission critical industrial control, automotive and wireless middleware and applications.
I have held executive management posts in R&D, product management and marketing roles, most recently with Esmertec. My current activities are mainly centered round mobile-sector start-ups.
I'm particularly interested in the application of artificial intelligence to mobile applications, especially the use of natural language processing in the implementation of smarter and friendlier user interfaces.
Since 1997 I have developed a number of systems that use AI including:

- JotMinder: a web based team collaboration tool for SMEs (http://www.jotminder.com)
- Memogo: a tool to enable organisations to disseminate rich information to consumers on the mobile web
