Location-based services have long been held as the holy grail of mobile applications -- though they've largely failed to develop, for any number of reasons. But the rise of Mobile 2.0 is seeing some life breathed into LBS, as GPS-enabled handsets proliferate, and new technologies allow developers to create services far more compelling than a simple "where's the nearest ATM?" application.
