Mobile Socialcasting with Kyte

Kyte.tv on a Nokia N80
Abstract

Kyte enables anyone to create their own interactive TV channel on their website, blog, social network or mobile phone.
A 'Kyter' can share a Kyte channel with friends and collaborate with them so that they can also be a part of the show, by adding their own content, by voting and by chatting live with other viewers. With Kyte mobile, you can share experiences live with the world and be star, director and producer of your own TV channel.

The Company

Kyte is brought to you by decentral.tv. Founded in 2006, decentral.tv is based in San Francisco, California. The company is funded by global investors, including: Atomico (co-founded by Niklas Zennström), Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Richards, Ron Conway, Swisscom, Holtzbrinck Ventures, and Nokia.

Quick Demo

Below, you can see an example of a LifeStream captured on a mobile phone. A LifeStream is a sequence of several pictures captured and uploaded LIVE to the web on a mobile phone.

I used a Nokia N73 for this example.

Please mouse over the widget & click on theright 'arrow' (aka the 'greater than' symbol) to actually see a screencast (video) of how the mobile phone application looked like during this lifestream session.

A demo on how it looks like when producing a lifestream.

The fact that you can post Kyte directly to your myspace and all of your friends who have it embedded anywhere can see what is going on, is pretty hip. I can even see what's happening on my show through my cell. Convenience and the ability to stay connected these days everywhere and anytime is pretty priceless these days.
Do you find this valuable?
